Philosophy

A wide range of training is needed to keep up with either aging or just having an active lifestyle, and I want to make it simple and convenient for people.  In one hour, I want to be able to give joint work, stabilizing work of smaller surrounding muscles and core focus, all mobility work of the joints and spine, deep stretch and some breathing techniques. 

My philosophy is to create a condensed class that is fun and entertaining so that all the regular work we need to keep a healthy and active lifestyle is enjoyable and even looked forward to.  We are physical beings and my goal is to help people stay as physical for as long as possible, whether that means climbing mountains or chasing kids around all day! 

No matter what your day looks like, these classes done consistently will bring equilibrium to the body, give both strength and deep stretch to the muscles and fascia systems, and create an overall sense of tension release to the mind and nervous system.

My goal as a teacher is to create an environment for students that is welcoming and inspiring.  I want them to find peace and a sense of self within my walls so they are able to let go of their thoughts easier and find the language of their bodies and their hearts.

Why do I teach the way I do?

When I teach, I listen to the music and let it inspire me, so it is very intuitive and music driven movement. I love music and it has a deep connection with my soul, so the music I use moves me deeply, and I teach from my soul. There is nothing better than teaching a class to a killer playlist that hits just right, it feels like my soul and body have been able to communicate on a physical level. More mechanically, I teach by making sure I hit all the main joints and muscle groups in the body, and the fascia lines.

My focus is always on warming up the ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, wrists, neck and spine. And then I focus deeper on strengthening and mobility work of the hips, shoulders and spine.
